Twitch Developer Portal Re-Design

Summer 2016, Amazon UX Design Internship Project

The Twitch Developer Portal (TDP) redesign was a 13 week project I spearheaded to improve Twitch developer relations. Twitch, the video game streaming site, is targeted to game players who want to broadcast their gameplay to a live audience. The Twitch Developer Portal (TDP) is a key component of Twitch and Amazon’s initiative to support and engage with game makers who want to optimize their game experiences for Twitch. The TDP’s vision is to help everyone on Earth deliver the next generation of entertainment on Twitch. When I left Amazon in August 2015 I presented a design direction based on 13 weeks of customer research, design iterations, and usability testing.

Throughout the project I worked closely with the Twitch leadership in Seattle, including the senior product manager, UX designer, and software engineer. I presented my findings to the Twitch San Francisco team after initial customer research, usability testing, and final design interactions. My final deliverable was a Amazon-style “Working Backwards Document” that included a design direction intended to jump-start the Twitch-lead effort to redesign the existing developer portal.

Vennue is a Lavalab interdisciplinary team project and finalist at the 1000 Pitches competition.  As the Designer and Product Manager for this web app, I’m in charge of both coordinating team members and designing the user experience of the web site.  Follow our progress on our marketing website!

Vennue strives to simplify event booking by creating a marketplace where event venues can connect directly with customers.  We provide high-quality leads for event venues that struggle to make it with limited marketing budgets.  For customers, we take away the inconvenience of researching, locating, and contacting proper event locations.  At Vennue we make event planning fun!

Summer 2014, ProtoHack

On May 17, 2014 I attended my first hackathon at ProtoHack.  ProtoHack is an all day “code-free” hackathon for designers and business people.  I partnered with two other people to create Vote Ally, an interactive mobile prototype for voter engagement.

Our goal is to simplify activism for the most disillusioned voters.  Voters can use the app to rate issues they care about and stay informed in a non-partisan way.  Regular people and elected officials can create actions based on current legislation or broad issues.  Voters can view these actions and “ally” themselves with the cause.

NerdHerdr

Spring 2014, Design for User Experience

NerdHerdr is an online marketplace that connects USC students with a viable skill to other USC students/alumni in startups looking for talent.  Students who have technical, artistic, design, or business skills are very valuable and needed in the USC startup marketplace. These students are also trying to further refine their skills and want to work on real-world projects.

This project was created for ITP 310, a User Experience Design class that teaches the fundamentals of UX design. A major component of the class is applying these skills through a semester-long, team-based project, NerdHerdr. This class covers all topics of UX starting with Research and ending with a Detailed Design prototype in Axure.  For this project we proposed an idea, conducted some research, drafted models, wrote requirements, created a framework, and finally produced a prototype.

Fall 2013, Integrated Design for Mobile Devices

Techcovery is where developers and entrepreneurs meet.  Techcovery creates a marketplace where mid-level developers can find startups in need of technical assistance.  Developers get their much-needed real-world experience and startup founders get their problems solved.

This is the first app mockup I created in a Mobile Design Class.  I created several mockup and devised a marketing plan for the app.
